Dr. Jean-Pierre Laurenceau-Medina has been dancing and teaching salsa/mambo (or NYC style on 2) for the past 20 years. Jean-Pierre was trained by one of the pioneers of “salsa on 2” in the Baltimore, MD-Washington, DC area- Manuel Martinez.

Jean-Pierre has almost two decades of experience teaching group and private lessons at dance studios, community centers, nightclubs/bars, and higher education institutions in State College, PA, Ithaca, NY, and Richmond, VA. Jean-Pierre was the founder of a salsa dance club (in conjunction with the ballroom dance club) at The Pennsylvania State University in 2000 (a club that is still going strong). Although Jean-Pierre thoroughly enjoys salsa/mambo, he is also available to teach introductory lessons in merengue, bachata, and cha-cha.

Jean-Pierre is excited to make salsa dancing more accessible to the Eastern shore by teaching group classes and private lessons in surrounding areas. Jean-Pierre is excited to be a part of the Dancing on the Shore family!
