Winter 2010 Group Lessons Please look below for explanation of classes levels (note Beginners level 1 is the same as what level 2 was in the past ) Wednesdays March 24th - April 21st ( no class 3/31) 7:00 Beginners Bolero 8:00 Beginners level 1 Swing April 28th – May 19th 7:00 Beginners Foxtrot 8:00 Beginners level 1 Bolero May 26th – June 16th 7:00 Beginners Merengue / Salsa 8:00 Beginner level 1 Foxtrot June 30th – July 21 7:00 Beginners Rumba 8:00 Beginner level 1 Merengue / Salsa August 4th - August 25th 7:00 Beginners Hustle 8:00 Beginner level 1 Rumba Group lesson Cost: $55.00 non members / $50.00 members of QACAC This cost is per person, Dance Workshops June 23rd - 7 to 9 pm Argentine Tango All levels July 28th - 7 to 9pm Dance Technique workshop 1st hour we will focus on basic technique of the rumba and cha-cha the 2nd hour we will focus on the technique of the Waltz and Foxtrot Workshops are $25.00 per person for the 2 hour class. Classes taught by Amanda Showell Cook Group lessons are 50 minutes long Please call Queen Anne County Arts Council at 410-758-2520 to register (Discounted rate for students who take both classes in one month) Sign up deadline is the Wednesday before the class start GROUP CLASS LEVELS: Basic Beginner - This class is for the student who has never danced or taken this dance before. Will start from the basic steps. Beginner Level 1- This class is a continuation of Basic Beginners, a few new steps will be added but a review of everything done in basic beginners will be given. A great way to continue a dance you really like Intermediate /level 2: A slightly more advanced class. You must know the basics of the dance or have attended Beginner level 1 before attending this class. Level 3 : This is an advanced class. You must have taken level 2 group lesson or have prior approval by Amanda to take this class. Private lessons are available in Centreville as well. Please call Amanda at 410- 482- 6169 for available times If necessary we will rotate partners in group classes. ( if the class is all couples we will not rotate partners) If you are uncomfortable with this policy, feel free to talk with me about taking private lessons instead of group classes Inclement weather: In case of inclement weather or snow please call the QACAC 410-758-2520.
