Minnie Maloney
Minnie, a local of Kent and Queen Anne’s County fell in love with line dancing when she was 12. Once a week she would go the VFW for lessons with her Father, who still to this day is her favorite dance partner. She then taught her newly discovered skills to friends, family and anyone who appeared interested in learning a new dance. Meanwhile she continued to travel to different instructors to learn more and to finesse her line dancing skills.
Minnie was thrilled to participate in a ” Footloose” flash mob in 2012 at the Delaware State Fair. In 2015 she started teaching line dancing classes at the Chestertown American Legion to help bring in more patrons and was overjoyed with the reaction and continued to teach once a week. Later that year she was asked to help participate as a line dance instructor in the Wild Wild West fundraiser event for St. Martin’s Ministry to help generate funds for those battling poverty. .
In addition, she taught line dancing and provided music for The Gunston School 2016 Bull & Oyster Roast. Most recently however Minnie competed in the 2022 Horizons of Kent & Queen Annes Dancing with the Stars fundraiser. Minnie, is looking forward to bringing back line dance lessons to her hometown area and Dancing on the Shore is thrilled to have her as an addition to their teaching staff. We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!!
